I had a complex operation in Auguse 2015 with Dr pickersgill and the man changed my life. I had 2 previous failed surgeries and travelled from scotland to Manchester for this surgery. I felt so much better after and even managed to go back to exercising, I still suffer adenomyosis but it felt easier to manage a little because I was rid of the endometriosis and frozen pelvis. Any the best news yet I am now 7wks 4 days pregnant

I came to Mr Pickersgill after receiving amazing A&E care from Stepping Hill hospital which unfortunately wasn't matched by follow up diagnostic treatment. He was recommended by someone as being the most "human" of the consultants within his specialist area and this is a description I 100% endorse. He listened to me to make sure he had all the facts, given that he was taking over my case part-way through, and was very patient every time I got my notebook out with my long list of questions, the answers to which I had to also write down if I was going to remember anything once I had left the room! He gave me options to consider as part of my treatment and answered all my questions regarding associated risks and how each option would suit me as an individual (not a case study). He is friendly, personable, honest and has a sense of humour (not all specialists possess this quality). He spoke to me like a knowledgeable friend rather than a consultant dealing with a patient. The comment made by someone else about never rushing an appointment is spot on and I never minded waiting if he was running late as I knew he would give me the same dedicated attention when it was my turn. Mr Pickersgill is a credit to his profession and I am so grateful for the care and attention received from him. Again, thank you so much.

Since 2013 Mr Pickersgill has provided me with both gynaecological and obstetric care of the highest standard. After a number of miscarriages and numerous doctors advising me to "just keep trying"; Mr Pickersgill listened to my story (through my exhausted tears) and assured me he would help me. Now, two children later, I can only describe his care as outstanding. With astute clinical knowledge alongside empathy and compassion, Mr Pickersgill made me feel like a person not a patient. I cannot recommend him more highly.

My sister has been under Mr Pickergill's care for treatment of some gynae' issues. Although I haven't met him personally, I have been in dialogue with regards to my sisters post-op recovery. Mr Pickersgill has responded very caringly and has even arranged review appts at short notice, when needed. My sister has had a difficult few weeks but has been singing Mr Pickersgill's praises. She has commented on the fact that there has not been any difference in his practice or care-giving when she has seen him privately and in the NHS. Having a healthcare background myself, I think it is fair to say that there a very few genuine doctors in the healthcare field. Most, are sadly in it for the cash alone. Mr Pickersgill is very understanding and supportive and I am glad my sister is under his care. She has a trust issue with what she has sadly experiences recently but she trusts Mr Pickersgill implicitly. Thanks for everything so far!

I have been under Mr Pickersgill's care for treatment of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids and endometriosis. He is one of the most genuine and caring consultants I have ever met. He is thorough with his explanations of conditions and answers all questions well. He appreciates patient anxiety and offers the right kind of reassurance due to his extensive knowledge and experience. He is just fantastic and I would highly recommend his service should anyone be in need of it. He practices both privately and NHS and I can say from experience that there is no difference in his practice. His demeanour is the same in both areas, which shows that he's not in the business for money. He cares about his patients and aims to get them better. I cannot thank him enough for his help to-date.
